La Piadina Romagnola - Italian Flatbread
Piadina RomagnolaWhen you leave your country you think you know a lot of its traditions and culture and that, once you will live abroad, you will learn mostly the traditions and culture of the country you are living in. That is only partially true :-) !
I actually met in the past few years a lot of people who, culinary speaking, opened my mind to new cooking approaches and foods I had no idea they exist... If there is one thing I like about living here is this great mix of cultures from all around the world! But it is always nice to find in California some piece of the Italian food tradition I ignored before!
Italy has 20 regions and each of them has its own food tradition, so you can imagine how hard it could be to know all of them :-)
Vanessa is a friend of mine from Cesenatico, a town on the seaside of Emilia Romagna. It was her idea to make Piadina and have dinner together and who am I to say no to a cooking session with a friend"" It was my first time making Piadina, I always bought it in the grocery stores in Italy, but now that I know it is so easy to make I'll make it more often for sure!

Piadina is a kind of Italian flatbread made in Emilia Romagna, a Northern region of Italy. I know it is not world wide famous as Tuscany, but it has some pride food I'm sure you have already eaten: bolognese sauce sounds familiar"!
