The only thing better than a delicious soup is an affordable, delicious soup. In this video, Nicole shows you how to make French onion soup. This recipe has very few ingredients, which makes it great for beginners. First, melt butter with olive oil in a pan before adding the onion slices. Cook the onions low and slow until they melt and brown. Next, add sherry, beef broth, and thyme before seasoning with salt and pepper. After letting it simmer for 30 minutes, add bread slices and cheese to the top of the soup before sitting it in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes to melt the cheese. Garnish it however you want and enjoy the comfort of a hot and cheesy soup!
