Slow Cooker Chicken with Bacon Gravy
Slow Cooker Chicken with Bacon Gravy- an easy dump-and-go chicken recipe that tastes great served over white rice. A creamy bacon-flavored gravy makes this chicken hard to resist.
Ingredients Needed
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Pepper, garlic powder, dried thyme, and crushed red pepper flakes– for seasoning.
Bacon– 8 slices cooked and crumbled.
2 Packets Gravy Mix
Heavy Cream
How To Make Slow Cooker Chicken with Bacon Gravy
Place chicken in a 6-quart slow cooker.
Sprinkle seasonings and bacon over chicken.
Whisk together gravy mix and water and pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours.
Add heavy cream and cover and cook another 10 minutes. Serve.
How To Serve
Serve over white rice or mashed potatoes with a side of Southern-Style Green Beans or Buttery Peas and Mushrooms. Also goes great with Old-Fashioned Cabbage Casserole or Cracker Barrel Baby Limas.
Can I Use Chicken Thighs"
Yes! You can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I recommend using 6. Cook them for 1 hour longer than chicken breasts.
Recipe Tips
I don’t recommend cooking chicken breasts on HIGH in a slow cooker. They are too likely to get overcooked and chewy and dry in texture.
Make it a little or a lot spicy. Add just a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat. Add half a teaspoon to make it spicy.
Storage
Will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days...
