DCF at 12: I?M BACK

It?s unbelievable to me that another six years have passed since that blowout bash I had to celebrate DCF?s 6th anniversary way back in 2011. The blogosphere has changed dramatically since then, and 2013 was even dubbed ?the year the blog died? when social media truly and totally transformed the online landscape.
Of course I too, am not the same; having cancer guaranteed that I?d never go back to the way I was ? physically and figuratively. After treatment, I had to learn how to live again and I seriously considered pulling the plug permanently on DCF, I didn?t see the point in continuing it. But Mark Floro, one of my photography mentors, reminded me, ?The blog is part of who you are,? and he?s right. At my core, I create: I create art through words and pictures, and if there?s an audience who appreciates it, then I?m grateful, but even if there isn?t, what matters most to me is ?doing my creative soul work,? as another artist-friend so eloquently put it. DCF is slicker and sharper now because of its new webmaster and you?ve noticed that we now have a team of contributors. The site is evolving to include more people to encompass a wider range of interests. Together, we harness our abilities to cover food topics of interest, especially since the diverse culinary landscape is too broad for one person to handle.
